Lake Success Pool – Deep Water Swim Test

Who

Anyone under the age of 15 who wishes to swim past the 5 ft line, as well as enter the deep end, must be tested by a lifeguard or supervisor.

What

1. The swimmer must jump feet first into the water, submerging completely under, then resurface.
2. The swimmer must then swim front crawl (freestyle) with their face in the water across the diving area, tag the wall, and return ½ of the length back unassisted and without rest.
3. The swimmer must then tread water for 30 seconds while keeping their entire head above the surface of the water.
4. The swimmer must then transition to a back float for 10 seconds while ensuring their legs and feet rise to the water's surface.
5. The swimmer must then swim the rest of the way to the wall on which they started and exit the pool unassisted.

When

Anyone who passes the deep water test must obtain a bracelet from the front gate when they arrive at the facility on weekends.

Lifeguards will monitor the capacity of the deep end and may require bracelets to be worn on weekdays when necessary.
